My Experience On The Front Lines as a Grocery Store Worker and An Essential Employee Part 2
by Jeremy Thomas Holt
As the Coronavirus pandemic continues the things continue to get weirder and weirder. We had ended firing close to 14 people for a number of reasons but I won’t really going into details. Let’s just say they were doing things they weeent supposed to. This includes an associate in my department (QA and or cleaning) which I am the head of but not an actual department manager of. We were shocked by this whole thing and this happened right as they were getting ready to start the remodeling of our store. We were hiring new people like crazy for a month straight to fill all of those positions. Then the remodeling finally started and first they did the frozen food department and then the grocery department. After they moved the shelves I had to scrape, sweep, scrub, mop, and run the floor machine over where the shelves used to be. Before I left on vacation they had remodeled the back managers office. I think The store is going to look great. They also have started having everyone go back to doing there normal weekly cleaning in there departments as well as the new covid cleaning. I’m still working 40 hours weeks but right now I’m on my first of 2 summer vacations. It’s been long, hard, stressful, tiring, and trying times but we’re surviving. God is with us and he is protecting us and giving us the strength we need to carry on. God Bless You All and Thank You for reading.
